Fabian Melinao

Visiting Student

Fabian was born in Santiago, Chile, and completed his undergraduate studies in Chemistry at the University of Santiago of Chile. He joined the PhD program in Chemistry at the same institution, his research focuses on the design and study of pyridinium–phenolate and bipyridinium-based solvatochromic dyes, with particularly interest in understanding how donor–acceptor substitution patterns modulate intramolecular charge transfer and solvatochromic behavior.

Hannah was born in Bonn, Germany. She completed her Bachelor’s and Master’s in Chemistry at the University of Bonn. Currently Hannah is pursuing her PhD in organic synthesis under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Sigurd Höger. As part of the RTG2591, she is spending a three-month research residency at the University of Alberta with the Tykwinski Group.
