Rylan was born in Edmonton, Alberta and is currently completing his BSc at the University of Alberta with a major in chemistry. He joined the Tykwinski group in the winter semester (2026) as a CHEM 399 student, then received the IDChem Summer Studentship award allowing for continued work throughout the summer. Rylan’s current work involves the synthesis and characterization of carbomers. In his spare time he enjoys teaching, pickleball, and board games.
