Kilian grew up in Germany. He completed his Master’s followed by his PhD in Organic Chemistry under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Norbert Jux at the Friedrich-Alexander-Universität in Erlangen, where his research focused on the synthesis of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, especially pyridinic nanographenes. This curiosity motivated him to join the Tykwinski group as a Postdoctoral Fellow, where he synthesizes pyridine substituted acene derivatives for applications in organic electronics. Outside the lab, you can find him playing piano or cross-country skiing.
